First off, let me apologize for being away from the site for so long. Between some unpleasant life circumstances and work, I simply haven’t had the time for side efforts like this site. However, with life improving and a more steady influx of funds, things have been looking up. I’m also lucky enough to have found a way to make money that can be tied into things I love.

I’m writing articles for Associated Content, and it’s been good to me. The ability to write freely about anything I choose and get paid for it has been wonderful. To get myself started and build a respectable reputation, I started writing non-controversial series like Green Living and Pet Care. However, now that I have myself established, I’m feeling comfortable with the idea of expanding to some topics that might get under people’s skin a bit more. That’s where The Vampire’s Lair comes in.

I’m going to be combining work and play by writing a new series entitled “Vampires 101″ I’ll be delving into all sorts of topics, mostly relating to real vampirism, although I may also bring in some myth and Hollywood. I’m going to start writing the new series tomorrow, and as soon as the articles are accepted, I’ll post links and synopses here. Yes, this means you’ll have to go off-site to read the articles, but the hosting and domain aren’t paying for themselves, so it’s a small sacrifice to help me keep the bills paid.

I hope you’ll enjoy the series, and the fact that I’ll be injecting some fresh blood into the site. If you have any suggestions for topics I should write about that relate to vampires and vampirism, feel free to comment here, and I’ll let you know if I do an article on your topic.
