Below is the current list of all the articles I’ve written for the Vampires 101 series. Enjoy!

Real Living Vampires and Sanguinarians are not the demons they’re sometimes made out to be. Cults and rebellious teenagers make vampire society look bad, but there’s little truth to the stories you may have heard.
There are a few different recognized types of vampire in Real Vampire society. This article will help you know which type you are, or if you’re a vampire at all.
I’ve learned over the years that many, if not most people think that anyone in the vampire community is a Satanist. While some of them are, most of them aren’t. It’s an ugly stereotype perpetuated by uneducated people.
Cults are something to be avoided. Unfortunately, cults often use appealing subcultures as a ruse to lure people into their grasp. If you’re thinking about joining a vampire group, you need to know what to look for to ensure it’s not dangerous.
I’ve given it a lot of thought over the years, and I have some theories and beliefs about what vampires really are and are not, if they actually exist.
Simply put, more likely than not, if you know someone who goes around saying that they’re some 100 plus year old vampire with all kinds of abilities that they refuse to show you, they’re most likely not.
The following information describes afflictions and diseases that could cause one to be mistaken for a vampire, and scientific “reasoning” as to why one would think themselves to be a vampire.
These are terms you will hear often in the vampire community. I’ll try to define them here to the best of my ability.
Am I a Vampire? Can you turn me into a vampire? These are questions that are commonly heard in the vampire community. They are questions that can be difficult, if not impossible to answer. I’ll attempt to address them here to the best of my ability.

Sanguinarians or “sangs” are vampires that feed on blood. Although the need or desire for blood energy is common among what most consider “real” vampires, it can be very dangerous. Please use utmost caution when blood feeding.
The following are answers to some often asked questions about vampires, both real and mythical.
It is very important for young people entering the vampire community to know the possible dangers of their decision. If you think you may be a vampire, or are entering into any “vampiric community”, there are several things you should keep in mind.
The list below will show some of the similarities and differences between Real Living Vampires (RLVs), Hollywood & Folklore Vampires (H&F), and Role Players (RPGers).

Psy-Vamps: How do you Feed?

Posted by: Mistress Ariana    in General Chat & Thoughts

In my last post, I was talking about the ethics of psy-feeding. With that on my mind, and being someone who could personally use the knowledge, I’m wondering how you personally gain the energy that you need.

It seems that having a donor or donors to provide you with energy through physical, sexual or emotional contact, would be the preferred method. However, there are those who live in areas where finding someone for that purpose is not an easy task.

Do you feed on others without their knowledge or permission? Is this acceptable behavior? i have hear people say that drawing the “excess” energy of groups of people is acceptable, while others disagree. What if there are no groups to draw from? Is feeding from “bad” people allowed? Is feeding on evildoers in some sort of gray area, or does it simply fall under the heading of feeding on the unwilling, and therefore become wrong?

As an aside… Has anyone tried feeding off a “bad” person, and had it work? Did it fail? Did you ever get the feeling that it didn’t/wouldn’t work due to a subconscious fear that you would be taking in the negative energies, rather than a “blank” energy, and therefore contaminate yourself with that negativity, rather than getting a positive effect from it?

Have you ever successfully drawn energy without any people being near at all? Is it ethical to feed off the energy of animals? Is it possible to draw energy from plants and trees? Can one simply learn to absorb the universal energy that is all around us? If so, what methods actually work?
